Twelve volunteers and 105 walkers, joggers and runners took part in Tøyen parkrun's 105th event this week. It was an exciting day as we successfully launched a new course route to steer clear of the three-year demolition and construction project at Tøyenbadet, the swimming pool at the top of Tøyen park.
It was great to see parkrunners enjoying the slightly adjusted course and giving it the thumbs up.
27 people were first timers and 13 participants recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 13 different clubs took part. Peter Hack and Daniel Stoddart reached the milestone of completing 50 parkruns and celebrated with muffins for everyone. Anne Lise Bueerat volunteered at parkrun for the 25th time and was one of our barcode scanners this week.
We are grateful for the parkrunners who take turns volunteering to make parkrun possible. More and more people are discovering what fun it is to volunteer every once in a while, it's social and feels good to contribute by giving back to parkrun. This event went ahead because of these 12 volunteers:
Trude SUNDTJØNN • Elin SUNDTJØNN • Amy THOMSON • Cristina Pulido ULVANG • Stuart GREIG • Helen RIST • Anne Lise BUEERAT • Leo RIST • Harald GLIEBE • Line Berre HANEBERG • Rasmus CHAN • Nelson CHEUQUE
