We had a fantastic turnout of 115 people today. One year ago, there were only 42! Of course, the excellent dry conditions and lack of snow were probably factors in this.
We celebrated the 100th run of our very own passionista, Axel Walø. Congratulations! Thanks to your family for providing delicious cake.
Another of our regulars also snuck in a milestone. Don't think that we didn't notice, Tomasz Puzniak!
We had several visitors from the UK - in fact several of them came from Bushy, the home of parkrun. We also had visitors from Australia. We were also thrilled by having so many first timers. It really warmed my heart that one of them has truly embraced the parkrun spirit and has already signed up to volunteer next week.
With such a great group of regular runners, who often volunteer, most of our regulars are only just coming up on their 50th milestones. That means that we expect to have lots more celebrations coming up in the next few months - and hopefully more cake!
The demolition work at Tøyenbadet begins next week, but don't worry. We'll be on as usual, with the usual provisos for the weather. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to see where we'll be starting.
