Event number 76
15th June 2019
We were once again blessed with fabulous weather which added even more to a very memorable parkrun, it also made the coffee and cake in the courtyard of the Handwerk Botaniske café very pleasurable.
The course record fell this week to a very impressive performance from Magnus Warvik, taking 18 seconds off the old time with the course record now standing at 15:50. Magnus also holds the course record at the Festningen parkrun in Trondheim.
Peter Chan, one of our regulars celebrated his 100th parkrun and provided some very nice cup cakes and biscuits for everyone.
But maybe eclipsing his achievement, Linda & Peter's son Rasmus completed his first parkrun, posting a time of 52:12, which is very impressive for a four and a half year old.
Tone Gravvold joined us for the first time, Tone has represented Norway in many sports, so it was rather nice to see her running our parkrun with her guide.
We had visitors from Australia, Ireland and the U.K, along with our visitors from Lancashire came Forest Bear, a teddy bear that travels the world enjoying the vast array of events available (can you spot Forest Bear?)
Finally a special thank you to our volunteers this week - Ruth Bartlett • Kara Meunier • Laura Bakker • Cristina Pulido Ulvang • Janne Woltmann • Patrick Pulido Ulvang • Tone Kvalvik • Carolyn Lillehovde • Bjarne Brenna - it makes the Run Directors job (Mark White) so easy when you have such great people doing a fabulous job.
