Spring was in the air and the sun was shining in Oslo on Saturday and this brought out the highest turnout for our event since back in November.
It was great to see so many people heading towards the start line a few minutes before 09:30 am.
In total 86 people ran, jogged and walked the course, including several “barnevogner” and a couple of parkrunning dogs . Even better, we had 26 first timers who we hope will become Tøyen parkrun regulars.
We also had several parkrun tourists. Ralph Blackbourn joined us from Bushy parkrun in London, the very first parkrun founded in October 2004. We also had visitors from Windsor, including Frances Sille who was the first female home. Мария Koctehko and Елена Koctehkofrom joined us from parkrun Khimki in Russia.
We were also lucky to be able to celebrate parkrun milestone number 300 for Gert Nissen who is the volunteer coordinator at Fælledparken parkrun in Denmark…and yes Gert it really is 4 times up the hill…
Last but not least a huge thank you to our fantastic volunteer team without whom our events would not be possible:
Sharon QUINCE • Laura BAKKER • Runar SAETHER • Trude SUNDTJØNN • Steven QUINCE • Stuart GREIG • Helen RIST • Anne Lise BUEERAT
We always love receiving emails from you offering to volunteer so please drop us an email to email@example.com and let us know what week and what role you would like to do.
We hope to see you all again next week for more parkrun fun.
