Nansenparken parkrun #48

Disaster struck our volunteer group on Thursday evening as one of the families that volunteer frequently became ill and they had to cancel.  Mad scramble on Friday meant that we were able to fill the majority of volunteer roles and parkrun could still go ahead on Saturday!  Thank you to Yngvil for the photos today!20221029_092752

Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day  - blue sky and unseasonably warm! I was quite surprised to only have 24 runners; as far as I know, there were no big road races taking place and Lommedalen Rundt attracts the trail runners.  It was a good friendly bunch of runners and volunteers today.  Paola Naerum had her 25th volunteering role today, so congratulations there!

This week 24 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 3 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 3 different clubs took part.20221029_095809

The event was made possible by 8 volunteers:

Nansenparken parkrun #47

Today was a bit cloudy but the temperature was absolutely perfect for running. Hyteplanmilla was taking place later day (a flat, very fast 10km) which I think hit our numbers a bit, but we still had 30 running today, including our tailwalker and parkwalker.

There were no milestones today, but we had 8 first timers and 9 personal bests, which is amazing. We had one tourist from the UK today, a member of parkrun royalty who is currently on a streak of 8 consecutive parkruns in 8 different countries. She is also currently fourth worldwide and first female in the number of tourist parkruns done, somewhere over 500 (I saw my first 500 milestone teeshirt today!)

Nansenparken parkrun #45

The absolute and most glorious day for a Parkrun and 44 lucky participants got to experience it!!

11 newcomers discovered the joy of Parkrun and successfully completed it!

A reminder to all that Park Walk was also available and was undertaken by Stian Brubakken. Our youngest-ever volunteer also made his debut so thank you Benedict Nærum!

We look forward to seeing you all and more of you over the next coming weeks!

Nansenparken parkrun #44

It was a wet and windy parkrun, but despite the adverse weather and start of the school fall holiday, we had 25 determined walkers, joggers and runners join us today! We had two first timers and eight PB's.

A special shout out goes to young Magnus who completed his 10th parkrun with a smashing time!

This was the start of "Parkwalk October" and we were excited to have Sverre as our first "Parkwalker". Sverre walked together with our tail walker Suzette. It was not the best conditions for other walkers, but we got some good parkwalker pictures and continue to encourage walkers to join us and try out parkwalk/run!

Thanks to all the volunteers, so great to get a full roster early on, and thanks especially to those who are volunteering for the first time! It wasn't always easy to stand out in the rain but we had a very nice coffee and tea afterwards together.

The event was made possible by 7 volunteers:

Suzette LI • Amy THOMSON • Erling MORK • Stian BRUBAKKEN • Michael RICANEK • Cornelia RICANEK • Sverre SKEIDE
