Nansenparken parkrun #26

We were very pleased to see a good turnout this Saturday, despite the long weekend and Ecotrail Oslo arranged on the same day. It was a blustery Saturday but running conditions were good, as long as one could safely manoevre around the goose poop littering the asfalt.

We especially welcomed the 11 first timers who came to take part, one of whom scored the coveted first place token! We also had a tourist from Stockholm.

32 people ran, jogged and walked the course and 8 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 2 different clubs took part.

Nansenparken parkrun #25

We had our first wet Saturday in months yesterday!  We're blaming Ekeberg parkrun - it rained on our second event, and it rained on their second event so it must be their fault... (there is logic in that argument, somewhere!).  It was also our 25 parkrun; we probably should have gone for a purple theme but that's the benefit of hindsight.

We had 31 runners; 8 first timers and 11 PBs plus one tourist from darkest London.  One of our regulars ran with his dog, on a hand-held lead, and another ran with a buggy.  In spite of the less than ideal weather, we seemed to have had the best in the area as places nearby had torrential downpours!

Nansenparken parkrun #24

On a windy, but lovely and sunny morning in Nansenparken, 30 parkrunners joined us to walk, jog and run the course.

We had a tourist from Denmark, who visited us for her first parkrun abroad. We also had 2 dogs joining us, both perfectly equipped with "parkrun approved" leads, which are short, non-extendable, handheld leads.

We had not expected a great turnout today, as we knew several regulars would be visiting the brand new Ekebergsletta parkrun, and with it being the day of Holmenkollstafetten, attracting many runners in the area, we were very happy to see so many joining us for parkrun.

Nansenparken parkrun #23

We were blessed (yet again!) with blue skies and sunshine, but it was quite windy - I felt like I would take off with the big signs!  Skiing season is definitely over and races are back up again, we are seeing a steady increase in runners each week.  We had one tourist from Northamptonshire, UK today!  We also had one man running with a buggy and a dog.280017001_532952398351366_6054649229560204205_n279889460_532952308351375_8030610146828153843_n280017001_532952398351366_6054649229560204205_n 280027897_532952875017985_2039237165491615184_n

Nansenparken parkrun #22

A gorgeous warm spring day at Nansenparken but there is still a bit of a chill in the wind!  However, the volunteers are very happy that we don't have to wear winter gear any more - I'm not brave enough yet to pack away my gloves.

279478093_528854892094450_1218468479606824495_n 278674758_528854785427794_5075031760235315579_n

We had a hiccup with the timings/placement that eventually got sorted out (thank you Elizabeth!) and a minor incident on the course that was still reported in our system.  We had one tourist - I didn't get a chance to speak to him but he was wearing an Ultra-Trail Snowdonia teeshirt, so I'm guessing he's a Brit.
